#050: Heyablock

I’m taking a short break from the Tapa Rope variations to celebrate Heyablock support on pzprxs. I recently discovered this genre in Toketa Vol. 1 and I’m in love with it. It feels like a mix of Shimaguni and Heyawake, combining some of the best features of both genres.

Here’s a small puzzle showcasing one of my favourite deductions in the genre. If you haven’t seen it before, this may be a little trickier than you might assume from the size of the puzzle.

Rules: Shade a single group of orthogonally connected cells in each region so that the remaining unshaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Shaded groups may not share a bold border. Regions with numbers must contain the indicated amount of shaded cells. Unclued regions must contain at least one shaded cell. A straight line of consecutive unshaded cells may not cross more than one bold border.
